  • Screen rotation. It does take time if a user rotates the monitor from landscape to portrait and vice versa regularly. Our screen rotation technology enables to simply rotate the display, and the screen will rotate with it. This means the user will be able to quickly rotate the screen without delving into the Control Panel to change orientation.
  • Desktop Partitioning. Tired of clicking on the window each time you want to switch? Usually need to be able to see multiple applications at the same time? Using QUBYX’s Desktop Partitioning, you can quickly split your screen into two, three, four, or more regions.   • Color Correction. Control your display to obtain the best overall image quality. The brightness and contrast settings are available in the OSD, but changing them may be tricky in practice: for instance, you can spoil the display’s calibration.   • Power Saving. QUBYX’s Power Saving solution allows reducing the display’s power consumption. You can either schedule the display to sleep and wake automatically, or to completely turn off the display at a particular time.

FDA Approves Dell UP3216Q Monitor and PerfectLum for Diagnostic Use

22 August 2016, Wilmington, Delaware, USA – Qubyx Software Technologies Inc., the U.S. software maker, announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued 510(k) clearance for the Dell Ultrasharp UP3216Q monitor and PerfectLum, the company’s calibration and quality assurance software for medical purposes.
Dell UltraSharp UP3216Q is a 31.5 -inch 8MP medical monitor with a resolution of 3840 х 2160 pixels, a typical brightness of 300 cd/m2 and IPS (in-plane switching) panel technology. The monitor is designed to provide consistent colors, a bright picture from different angles and brilliance across the color spectrum. In order to improve colour accuracy further, we bundled the monitor with PerfectLum application which enables DICOM conformance and luminance checks, as well as acceptance and constancy tests. The bundle has received the FDA 510 (k) clearance as a medical device and is intended to be used for displaying and viewing medical images, for review and analysis by trained medical practitioners.

What is PerfectLum?

The DICOM calibration and quality assurance software PerfectLum allows performing DICOM, Gamma and CIE L* calibrations, conformance tests, verification of white level and luminance level, and quality assurance tests in accordance with AAPM TG18, DIN 6868-57,DIN 6868-157, JESRA X-0093, IEC 62563-1, NY PDM, NYC PDM, and ACR regulations. PerfectLum prepares detailed reports for every operation it performs. QUBYX Is Going To Team Up With Display Manufacturers To Increase The Value Of Image Reproduction Hardware

The real requirement for monitor calibration is actually very obvious, as without it you will never be able to see images as they were intended. This is true for both, TV and computer displays used for different purposes, either for professional or home consumer needs.

Nowadays most displays are provided with factory calibration. Unfortunately the monitors almost never reproduce colors exactly the same, even if they are identical brands and models. This can be explained by the fact that even the same models can be manufactured in different facilities and not in the same way. In addition, despite of being factory calibrated, displays tend to change over time, which influences the accuracy of the image reproduction.

Beyond this, many TV and computer displays are provided with different ‘professional’ calibration pre-sets, which are apparently aimed to improve and adjust image quality. In fact such settings shouldn’t be considered as the accurate ones.

A lot of display manufacturers offer calibration software and a puck packaged with the display to let a user to perform software calibration if he wants to. Software calibration works by modifying the colors via the computer graphics board and loading those colors every time after booting up into your operating system.

But if you are serious about calibration, the best options for you are to use a display’s LUT (Look Up Table) or 3D LUT. Hardware calibration generates a Look-Up Table that is written into the monitor to map all the colors. Brightness, contrast and color levels will be automatically adjusted by the display through calibration software. Compared to software, hardware calibration (so called ‘internal’ calibration) is more accurate, faster and easier.

Qubyx releases a new version of its display calibration and quality control software PerfectLum 3.9 that now complies with the ACR guidelines (Technical Standard for Electronic Practice of Medical Imaging)* set forth by the American College of Radiology.

Other improvements have been made to the QA section:

Qubyx Announces the Launch of the Sensor Module – MicroEye

QUBYX Software Technologies, the developer of display calibration and quality assurance software solutions, has announced the launch of the QUBYX Sensor Module, a colorimeter and luminance meter for displays. Compact, extremely accurate and easily integrated device will keep color and brightness stable for the life of a display.

Despite of being factory calibrated, displays tend to change over time, which influences the accuracy of the image reproduction. When color and luminance reproduction counts, like in the medical imaging industry, calibration becomes even more critical. External measuring devices are not the best option, as these need to be handled manually. That is why QUBYX has developed a small form factor colorimeter that can be effortlessly integrated into any display or projector. The sensor constantly monitors and adjusts brightness and color to maintain a perfect picture.
