PerfectLum Suite helps to improve Dental Care in Sweden
In the same way as Radiology departments within hospitals have converted from film to digital X-ray images for diagnostics, this technology is now also widely implemented for Dental Clinics.
In Sweden Dental Care is split about 50/50 between Private and State operated clinics. The State Dental care (Folktandvården) is organized in 21 regions, where a typical region has some 30 local clinics with an average of 10 dental chairs each.
Over the past year Folktandvården has installed more than 3,000 Olorin VistaLine monitors for X-ray viewing along with PerfectLum Suite server and client software for calibration and quality monitoring. The Olorin monitors are equipped with an integrated front luminance sensor which enables fully automatic calibration controlled from the PerfectLum Suite server software.
With the monitors calibrated by PerfectLum Suite, the dentists are assured of always having a correct image to make their judgements from, thus improving quality in their work
The ability to set up calibration and monitoring tasks from a central PerfectLum Suite server contributes to a large cost saving as compared to visiting each clinic to perform these tasks. Based on history and statistical reports from the tasks performed, the Quality Control department at the regional head office now has tools available to make sure that all Olorin monitors are functioning correctly.
